Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to Nagri Pustaka: Jurnal Pendidikan, Ilmu Sejarah, dan Budaya undergoes a rigorous editorial and peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Upon submission, the manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team through an initial screening process. At this stage, the manuscript is assessed for compliance with the journal’s author guidelines, including formatting requirements, citation and reference style, structure, language quality, and overall suitability with the journal’s focus and scope. In addition, all submissions are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin.

Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed. Reviewers evaluate the scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution of the manuscript to the relevant field of study.

Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor will make one of the following editorial decisions:

  1. Accept Submission;
  2. Revisions Required;
  3. Resubmit for Review;
  4. Decline Submission; or
  5. Recommend Transfer to Another More Appropriate Journal.

The peer-review process generally takes between one and eight weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts and, where necessary, revised versions may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor and is based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the journal’s editorial standards.
