Jurnal Pendidikan Sosial Indonesia (JUPSI) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by CV. Yazri Aksara Nusantara / Yazri Publisher. The journal provides an international forum for the publication of high-quality original research articles, review articles, and conceptual papers in Social Studies Education and related educational disciplines. Jurnal Pendidikan Sosial Indonesia (JUPSI) encourages scholarly contributions that advance educational theory, research, policy, and practice through innovative, interdisciplinary, and evidence-based approaches.

The journal welcomes manuscripts covering a broad spectrum of topics, including Social Studies pedagogy, curriculum development, teaching and learning strategies, assessment and evaluation, character and values education, local wisdom-based education, civic and citizenship education, democracy education, digital literacy, educational technology, artificial intelligence in education, multicultural education, education for sustainable development, educational policy, and interdisciplinary studies encompassing History Education, Geography Education, Economics Education, Sociology Education, Anthropology Education, and other contemporary issues in Social Studies Education.

All articles published by JUPSI are made freely available under the principles of Open Access and are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse published materials with appropriate attribution to the original authors and source.

JUPSI is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly integrity, editorial independence, and publication ethics. The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices, the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, and internationally recognized ethical standards for academic publishing. All individuals involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher—are expected to uphold the principles of integrity, fairness, transparency, accountability, professionalism, and academic responsibility throughout every stage of the editorial and publication process.

Fundamental Ethical Principles

The publication process of Jurnal Pendidikan Sosial Indonesia (JUPSI) is guided by the following ethical principles:

• Integrity – Research and publication activities must be conducted honestly, responsibly, and in accordance with accepted scientific standards.
• Objectivity – Editorial decisions and peer-review evaluations are based solely on academic merit, originality, methodological quality, and relevance to the journal's scope, free from discrimination or personal bias.
• Transparency – Editorial procedures are carried out consistently, fairly, and transparently, ensuring accountability throughout the publication process.
• Fairness – Authorship should accurately reflect substantial scholarly contributions, and all qualified contributors should receive appropriate recognition.
• Academic Honesty – The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, image manipulation, and any other form of research or publication misconduct.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers are required to disclose any financial, institutional, personal, professional, or other relationships that could influence the objectivity of the editorial or peer-review process. Any actual or potential conflict of interest must be declared before editorial decisions are made.

Editors and reviewers shall not use unpublished information contained in submitted manuscripts for personal research, academic benefit, or commercial purposes without the explicit written permission of the authors.

Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for:

• Establishing and implementing editorial policies consistent with international publishing standards.
• Safeguarding editorial independence, publication ethics, and scholarly integrity.
• Making fair, objective, and timely editorial decisions based solely on the academic quality and relevance of submitted manuscripts.
• Supervising the editorial process and ensuring the consistency and quality of published content.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of authors, reviewers, editors, and all editorial communications.
• Managing ethical concerns, corrections, expressions of concern, and article retractions in accordance with COPE recommendations.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement and enhancing the journal's national and international reputation.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are expected to:

• Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and without discrimination.
• Coordinate a rigorous, confidential, and timely double-blind peer-review process.
• Base editorial decisions exclusively on scientific merit and relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
• Assist authors in improving the clarity, organization, language, and scientific quality of accepted manuscripts.
• Ensure compliance with the journal's editorial policies, ethical standards, and formatting requirements.
• Recommend revisions, corrections, or retractions whenever necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers are expected to:

• Conduct objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations.
• Assess the originality, significance, methodological rigor, clarity, and scholarly contribution of submitted manuscripts.
• Provide professional recommendations that support informed editorial decisions.
• Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and all related review materials.
• Declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest and decline review assignments whenever impartiality cannot be guaranteed.
• Refrain from using unpublished information obtained during the review process for personal, academic, or commercial benefit.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to JUPSI are expected to:

• Submit only original manuscripts that have not been published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
• Present research findings honestly, accurately, and transparently without fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or inappropriate data manipulation.
• Properly acknowledge the work of others through accurate citation and referencing.
• Ensure that all listed authors have made substantial scholarly contributions and have approved the final version of the manuscript.
• Disclose all sources of research funding and any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
• Cooperate fully throughout the editorial and peer-review process, including manuscript revisions when requested.
• Promptly notify the editorial office if significant errors are discovered after publication so that appropriate corrections or retractions can be issued.
• Comply with all publication ethics, editorial policies, and submission requirements established by the journal.

Following the acceptance of a manuscript, the corresponding author may be requested to complete and sign the journal's Publication Ethics Statement and any additional publishing documents required before the article proceeds to the production and publication stages.
